What is the Summer Youth Program?
The Delburne Summer Youth Program gives children of our community an opportunity to be active, meet new people, and continue to learn throughout the summer months. Not only do we want to provide your children with the chance to enjoy many fun recreational activities, but we also want to help them develop leadership skills. We plan to accomplish this through team-building activities and games, working through brain teaser puzzles, and much more. We will be incorporating these activities into both local and away events, as well as during travel time in order to maximize engagement and excitement.

Meet the Staff:
Emma Pilkington - Coordinator
My name is Emma Pilkington, and I am excited to be the 2017 Delburne Summer Youth Program Coordinator. Although this is my first year as Coordinator, I am very familiar with the program and the community. I was the Assistant Coordinator in 2014 and 2015, and am happy to be back for the summer!
In the fall, I will be returning to University of Alberta’s Augustana Campus for the second year of my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Global Development Studies. I have always had a passion for working with children, and hope to incorporate both the psychology of children and community engagement into my degree and future career.
This year, the staff's goal is to build on SYP’s past success by enhancing the program to better meet the needs of our community and the FCSS mandate. We hope to continue to foster positive relationships between participants, encourage active lifestyles, and ultimately spread smiles among the youth of our community.
I am looking forward to a fun-filled summer!
